Other manners to express your authority

The objective of parental authority is to pinpoint references to the child. It is based on these marks that the child will build his autonomy. In fact, these marks will allow him to learn how to behave in society, but they will also allow him to understand what is good for him and what is bad, what is dangerous and what is not. Furthermore, authority does not go without protection: to show authority to a child, is also to show him that we are capable of protecting him, and that he can grow up with confidence.
To educate a young child to be clean, for example, it’s better to encourage him when he makes well, as to reprimand him or give him the spanking when he is not.
If you are really angry make a break and ask your child to go to his room, the time necessary for you to calm down.
In addition, it is always necessary to try to explain to the child the reasons of your anger.
If you let yourself overrun by anger, and you spontaneously spanked him and if you regret it, it is better to excuse yourself to him.
If nevertheless you think that in certain situations only a spanking will make the child to obey, when for example he steps down from the sidewalk without looking, do not forget that it will have an educational value only if you accompany your gesture with a clear explanation given in a quiet tone.
