Sleep disorders of the adolescents

Posted by Al. Weaver on Saturday Nov 8, 2008 Under Adolescent Psychology

According to a study of the national Institute of health and medical research, 40 % of the teenagers in school feel often tired. Where does this problem come from? How to rediscover rest?

Often connected with sleep disorders, the fatigue must be however followed with attention and by eliminating the most evident causes.

Why teenagers don’t get a good night sleep?

  • Does he/she spend too much time in front of his/her computer or playing his/her video games before going to bed?

By arriving at middle school, children lose a unique, close teacher, comparable to parents. This reference teacher is missing in middle school. It is a moment when we ask the adolescents to be autonomous while they are still very dependent finally. At the beginning of the 6th grade, in my opinion, every teacher should take care of four teenagers to restore this privileged link, reinstating affection in the educational link. I believe that it would be necessary to eliminate educational neutrality. Albert Camus would, without doubt, never have become Albert Camus without the determining influence of Mister Germain, his elementary school teacher, had on his school years.

Parents should not especially get involved in it! I believe firmly that it is necessary to leave the questions of health and sexuality of adolescents to health care professionals who surround them: family doctors, paediatrician, school nurses. Studies indicate that more than 70 % of the children trust their family doctor. It is necessary to take advantage of this privileged relation to let them live what I consider as a part of discovery and autonomy.

The beginning of the crisis of our teenagers is marked by indications funny to identify. During the 5th grade in elementary school, for example, we see their hair and their hairstyles changing. They also begin refusing to get dressed as you would like to. And then there are all these shrugs of shoulders, when you talk to them..
